Karunesh ( Hindi करुणेश, "compassion") is the artist pseudonym of the New Age / Ambient musician Bruno Reuter (* 1956 in Cologne ). In his music he uses meditative sounds and partly Indian instruments such as the sitar .

Although he was drawn to music as a child and played in a band as a teenager, he studied graphic design . After graduating, he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. His close encounter with death made him reflect on his life and begin a spiritual path of life so that in 1979 he traveled to India to see Osho . After his accident, he finally decided to pursue his talent as a musician.

In 1984 the first album Sounds of the Heart was released. The albums Heart Chakra Meditation (1992) and Chakra Sound (1997) are the basis for active meditation of the same name. Other active meditations by Osho were set to music by Deuter and Kamal . The first seven CDs originally appeared on Nightingale Records / Meistersinger Musik , the label on which Anugama and Kamal also released their first CDs.

Karunesh has lived in Maui , Hawaii since 1992 .
