Karyn Parsons (born October 8, 1966 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

Career

Parsons was born in Hollywood, California in 1966 to a white father and black mother. She began acting at the age of 13, albeit without any significant success at the time. Only seven years later, after she graduated from Santa Monica had made high school, she earned the first attention for her role in two episodes of the NBC series The Bronx Zoo . But she only became really known for her role as Hilary Banks , which she played in the sitcom The Prince of Bel Air from 1990 to 1996 . Even after this time, she shone mainly with smaller guest roles in television series. In between she was seen in films such as At War Feet with Major Payne (1995) or The Ladies Man (2000).

During the shooting of the feature film 13 Moons (2002), she met Steve Buscemi and director Alexandre Rockwell , whom she married in 2003 and with whom she now has two children.
