Kaspar Friederich

Kaspar Friederich (also Kaspar Fridenreich ) (born November 10, 1572 in St. Gallen ; † March 28, 1655 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Kaspar Friederich was the son of St. Gallen Mayor Konrad Friederich and his wife Barbara, daughter of Hans Sauter.

He was a member of the weavers' guild and was elected their guild master in 1630.

In about five decades he held various municipal offices, for example he was elected councilor in 1633 and practiced this every three years from 1636 to 1655, alternating with Hans Hildbrand (elected 1638), David Cunz (elected 1652) and Silvester Hiller (elected 1654) Office of the Reichsvogt , mayor and former mayor . Despite his declaration of renunciation, he was re-elected well into old age.

Kaspar Friederich married Barbara, daughter of Johannes Hauptlin, in 1594 and Elsbetha, daughter of Hans Reutiner, in 1598.
