Kaspar von Fels

Kaspar von Fels (born August 18, 1668 in St. Gallen ; † June 4, 1752 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen and a delegate from the Diet.

Life

Kaspar von Fels was born to David von Fels.

He held various public offices in St. Gallen. Among other things, he was a guild master in 1720, later a councilor and sack master and in 1743 a federal war council . As the city's envoy, he repeatedly took part in the federal diets and in the conference of evangelical cities and towns, which was held regularly in Aarau.

In 1742 he was elected mayor for the first time and held this position alternating with Friedrich Girtanner and Hans Jacob Rietmann every three years as mayor, former mayor and bailiff until his death.

Kaspar von Fels married Elisabeth in 1691 (* November 21, 1674; † unknown), daughter of Johannes Högger (* August 24, 1640; † October 6, 1678), a member of the tailors' guild.
