Friedrich Girtanner

Friedrich Girtanner (born October 25, 1664 in St. Gallen ; † January 7, 1753 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ) and delegate to the Diet .

Life

Friedrich Girtanner was born as the son of Johannes Girtanner, dyer, Obervogt von Bürglen , guild master and councilor.

He practiced the profession of dyer and belonged to the tailors' guild, in which he became a guild master in 1715. From 1740 to 1753 he held the offices of mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff every three years . In addition, he represented St. Gallen several times in the federal diets.

In 1744 he was the federal representative in Basel.

Friedrich Girtanner married Elsbetha, daughter of the salt merchant Josef Vonwiller, on August 22, 1693. The names of his children are known:
