Kassita ( Central Atlas Tamazight ⴽⴰⵙⵉⵜⴰ , Arabic كاسيطا) is a small town in the Driouch province in the Oriental region of northeast Morocco . It has 2,675 inhabitants.
location
Kassita is located in the eastern foothills of the Rif Mountains about 60 km (driving distance) southeast of Al Hoceïma and about 95 km southwest of Nador . After prolonged or heavy rains, the Oued Kert flows through the village and flows west of Melilla into the Mediterranean .
Population and economy
The city's residents are mainly Rif Berbers who immigrated in the second half of the 20th century . Many men work in Europe and return to their hometown every summer. Other jobs exist in retail, craft and administration, as well as in schools and healthcare.
Attractions
Kassita has no historically significant sights; only the Spanish Church refers to the situation in the first half of the 20th century.
