The Oued Kert is a coastal river in northeastern Morocco . It only carries water after prolonged or heavy rainfall; otherwise it is largely or entirely dry for most of the year.

The Oued Kert rises after heavy rainfall at an altitude of about 1020  m in the eastern part of the Rif Mountains , flows a short distance to the north, then turns to the east, flows south past the city of Midar and through the provincial capital Driouch , to finally to take a north-easterly, later a northerly direction and flow into the Mediterranean.

Tributaries

The Oued Kert has several tributaries, but they also only carry water at times.

Numerous prehistoric artifacts have been found in the estuary of the Oued Kert .
