Kastenberg is a locality in the mountainous city of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is in the Rehsiepen residential area of the Ronsdorf district at 305 m above sea level. NHN in a forest area east of the Rehsiepen settlement . In addition to Rehsiepen, the localities Linde , Tannenbaum , Blaffertsberg , Lohsiepen and Blombach are adjacent .

history

Box mountain is from the Prussian new recording from 1892 on Ordnance Survey recorded regularly.

In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province from 1888, two houses with 23 inhabitants are given.

Until the construction of the Wuppertal – Opladen / Solingen railway line , a path over Kastenberg connected the fir tree with the scraper head near the center of Ronsdorf. The route was interrupted by the construction of the railway line.
