The Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 1999/2000 was the 29th season of the third highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It began on September 16, 1999 with the 1st day of play and ended on May 21, 2000 with the 32nd and final day of the game.

Competition mode

In the 1999/2000 season, the TFF 1. Lig was played as an eight-track league, as in the previous season. Furthermore, the total number of teams has been reduced from 137 to 134. These 134 teams played in eight groups, each with 15 or 17 teams, for promotion to the 2nd league or against relegation to the regional amateur leagues. The division of the league was carried out on a regional basis, so that mostly all teams in a group from neighboring or close to one another located provinces came. All first placed went straight to the 2nd league . In addition, two runners-up rose through the play-offs . The last two teams in all groups were relegated.

Beginning of the season were the remaining from the previous season 108 Teams ten relegated from the 2. Lig Adana Demirspor , Kilimli Belediyespor , Petrol Ofisi SK , TKİ Soma Linyitspor , Zonguldakspor , Edirnespor , Erzincanspor , Gümüşhane Doğanspor , Ankara Demirspor , Fırat University SK , 16 newcomers Muşspor , Batman Karşıyakaspor , DÇ Divriğispor , Iğdır Belediyespor , Sürmenespor , Mezitlispor , Petlas Kirsehirspor , Etibank SAS , Dalaman Kağıtspor , Manavgat Belediyespor , Ayazağaspor , Ümraniyespor , Feriköy SK , Alibeyköy SK , Yıldırım Bosnaspor , Beşyüzevler SK added. The newcomers had been accepted as champions from the then fourth-class regional amateur leagues and were allowed to take part in the third division.

Cizrespor ( Group 1 ), Gümüşhane Doğanspor ( Group 2 ), Hacılar Erciyesspor ( Group 3 ), Türk Telekomspor ( Group 4 ), Ispartaspor ( Group 5 ), Yeni Turgutluspor ( Group 6 ), Öz Sahrayıceditspor ( Group 7 ), Kırklarelispor ( Group 8 ) achieved the championship of the 3rd league in their groups and thus direct promotion to the 2nd league . In addition, the two second-placed Akçaabat Sebatspor and Güngören Belediyespor rose to the 2nd Lig.

End of the season were from the Group 1 Diyarbakır Köy Hizmetleri SK , Bingölspor , from the Group 2 Fatsaspor , Sürmenespor , from the Group 3 Fırat University SK , İslahiyespor , from the Group 4 Çaycumaspor , Erdemirspor , from the group 5 Yeni Anamurspor , Manavgat Belediyespor , from group 6 Simav Eynalspor , Selçuk Efes Spor , from group 7 Ümraniyespor , Feriköy SK and from group 8 Vefa Istanbul , Çerkezköy Belediyespor as relegated to the regional amateur league.

At the start of the season, several clubs changed their names. Thus Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediyespor in Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediye Diskispor , Diyarbakır Telekom Gençlikspor in Diyarbakir Telekomspor , Silopi Belediyespor in Silopi Cudispor , Melikgazi Belediyesi Erciyesspor in Hacılar Erciyesspor , Büyükşehir Belediye Gaskispor in Gaskispor , Kocasinan Belediyespor in Kayseri Elektrikspor , Ceyhan Belediyespor in Ceyhanspor and Akhisarspor in Akhisar Gençlik ve Belediyespor renamed.
