Katchi Habel

Katchi Habel (* 22. October 1982 in Aba ) is a former German track and field athlete who on the Sprint specialized.

She was born in Nigeria and came to Germany in 1985. In 1999 Habel took part in the youth world championships in Bydgoszcz and reached seventh place in the 100-meter run and fourth place in the German 4-by-100-meter relay . In the following year, she won two medals at the Junior World Championships in Santiago de Chile, with the relay she became world champion and over 100 meters she ran in 11.39 seconds in second place. At the 2001 European Junior Championships in Grosseto, Italy, she won gold twice, in the 100-meter run and with the relay, and silver over 200 meters.

In the adult sector, Habel was particularly successful with the relay. In the hall she became German champion with the Dortmund 4 x 200 meter relay in 2000, 2001 and 2003. In the open air she was successful with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. In 2002 she was used at the World Cup in Madrid in the German relay, which ran to fifth place.

Katchi Habel started for SC Preußen Münster and LG Olympia Dortmund (from 2000).
