Kate Mosse ( CBE ) (born October 20, 1961 near Chichester , West Sussex ) is a British writer and television presenter . She is not to be confused with the British model Kate Moss .

Life

Kate Mosse presents a regular book program for the BBC's culture channel . In 1996 she was one of the founders of the Orange Prize for Fiction , which has been awarded annually since then. She also writes short stories , newspaper articles and non-fiction books .

In 1996 Kate Mosse published her first novel , Eskimo Kissing , about a young, adopted woman looking for her parentage. 1998 followed the time travel - Thriller Crucifix Lane . In 2005 she landed an international success with Labyrinth (Eng .: The Lost Labyrinth ), an archaeological detective story set in the Middle Ages and in the present . In 2012 she worked as a screenwriter on the film The Lost Labyrinth .

Kate Mosse lives in West Sussex and Carcassonne with her husband and two children .
