Katghora is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .
The city is part of the Korba district . Katghora has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 22,690 inhabitants, of which 11,489 were men and 11,201 were women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 81.7% and thus above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 87%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 10%.
