Bagbahra is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .

The city is part of the Mahasamund district . Bagbahra has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 19,529 inhabitants, of whom 9797 were men and 9732 were women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 75.9%, slightly above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 93%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 4%.
