Katharina Renata of Austria (born January 4, 1576 in Graz , † June 29, 1599 in Graz) from the House of Habsburgs was an Archduchess of Austria .

Life

Katharina Renata was a daughter of Archduke Karl II of Austria-Styria (1540–1590) from his marriage to Maria Anna (1551–1608), daughter of the Bavarian Duke Albrecht V. With Katharina Renata and her sisters the famous Habsburg lower lip should be restored have come out clearly.

Katharina Renata was engaged to Ranuccio I Farnese , Duke of Parma and Piacenza (1569–1622), but died before the marriage at the age of 23, before the marriage negotiations got underway. She was buried in the Habsburg mausoleum of the Seckau basilica .
