Katharina von Koppenfels-Spies

Katharina von Koppenfels-Spies (born von Koppenfels, born July 10, 1972 in Münster ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bad Iburg , von Koppenfels-Spies studied law at the University of Münster from 1991 to 1996 . In the winter semester 1993/94, her studies were interrupted by a semester abroad at the Université de Poitiers . In 1996 she passed her first state examination in law and the second in 1999. Before that, in May 1998, she did her doctorate in Münster with Heinz-Dietrich Steinmeyer . From 2000 to 2006 she was a research assistant at the Steinmeyer chair. In 2005, the habilitation followed, with which Koppenfels-Spies was awarded the license to teach in the subjects of civil law, labor law, social law and private insurance law.

After brief teaching assignments in Nijmegen , Łódź and Münster, von Koppenfels-Spies has been director of the Institute for Business Law, Labor and Social Law, Department III Social Law at the University of Freiburg since the 2006/07 winter semester. In addition, she teaches, among other things, within the framework of the master’s courses in "Medical Law" and "Pension Provision" at the University of Münster and at the Administrative and Business Academy in Freiburg. Among other things, she is a member of the Association of Civil Law Teachers , the German Social Law Association and the Association of Labor Law Teachers.

Von Koppenfels-Spies is married and has a daughter.
