The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity ( Slovak Katedrála Najsvätejšej Trojice ), popularly often just Farský kostol (German parish church ), is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Žilina , Slovakia . Since 2008 it has been the cathedral church of the newly founded diocese of Žilina . It is located on Horný val street above Námestie Andreja Hlinku on the eastern edge of the historic city center.

The church was first mentioned in 1400, when it was still called Our Lady . According to the latest research, its history goes back to the 13th century. In 1530 a fortification tower was built next to the church, which was originally called the New Tower and is now called Burian's Tower . Around the middle of the 16th century, after the city was conquered, the church was converted into a fortress, which was later reversed. The patronage changed towards the end of the 16th century when the church was rededicated as the Church of the Most Holy Trinity . The Johann Nepomuk Chapel was added in 1762. The church burned down in 1678, 1848 and partly in 1886.

The church's three naves were originally Gothic, but were redesigned in the Renaissance style. The last repair took place in 1942.

The altarpiece in the main altar depicts the Trinity , while the side altars depict the Immaculate Conception and a crucifix . There is a picture of St. Anne at the entrance. The Burians tower next to the church offers a good view of the city.
