Kathi Stimmer-Salzeder
Kathi Stimmer-Salzeder (* 1957 in Aschau am Inn , Upper Bavaria ) is a German songwriter and publisher.
Life
Stimmer-Salzeder grew up with four siblings in a religious family. The music-loving parents Kathi and Otto Stimmer promoted their musical talent and let them learn, among other things, the flute, guitar and piano. While folk music was mainly played at home, she came into contact with the New Spiritual Song at the English Fräulein's boarding school in Altötting . At the age of 13 she wrote her first song in this genre.
After finishing school, Kathi Stimmer-Salzeder studied teaching for elementary and secondary schools in Munich with a focus on music and religion. She has been married to Matthias Salzeder since 1980 and lives with her family in their hometown. During the education of the three children (1984, 1986, 1987) the composer built up her publishing house Musik und Wort , through which she sells CDs and sheet music with her songs.
During his school days in Altötting, Kathi Stimmer-Salzeder founded the Aschauer Rhythm Group in 1973 - the first ensemble in which their songs were made public. The group organized youth, pilgrimage and festival services. During the 25th anniversary of the Aschauer Rhythm Group, the composer's songs spread in concert halls and churches - especially in German-speaking countries. Some of their songs found their way into the hymn books of Christian churches. Her compositional work to date comprises around 500 songs and instrumental pieces.
Stimmer-Salzeder has been performing her musical works with the Aschauer Stimm-Kreis since 1998 and organizes services and workshops. She also directed the Aschauer Children's Choir and gives instrumental lessons for children.
When composing her songs, she claims to make music that can be played by many. Therefore, all works are free of GEMA fees .
