The Catholic branch church St. Antonius is a building in Messel , a town in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in the Starkenburg region ( southern Hesse ).
History and description
The Catholic branch church St. Antonius in the "Marktstrasse" was built in the 1900s. After the construction of the small workers' settlement at the Messel pit , the small church was built. Stylistically, the chapel belongs to historicism . The massive church stands on a square floor plan with a side extension. It has a half-timbered gable on the west side, which is crowned by a wooden square roof turret. The roof has a beaver tail covering . The facade is plastered .
