The St. Alfons Catholic School is a state-approved primary school in the Marienfelde district of Berlin , sponsored by the Archdiocese of Berlin . It is named after the canonized Father of the Church and founder of the Order of Redemptorists, Alfonso Maria de Liguori .
history
The school was founded in 1963 in a barrack of the poor school sisters of Our Lady in Bruno-Möhring-Strasse in Berlin-Marienfelde as a branch of the St. Ludwig School in Berlin-Wilmersdorf . The school sisters had their domicile in the immediate vicinity of the Church of Saint Alfons of the Redemptorists . In 1964 a second school class was established. In 1965 the foundation stone was laid at the current location on Tennstedter Straße, which is located directly on the border with the Lankwitz district . In 1977 the St. Alfons Catholic day care center was opened on the opposite side of the street , previously run by the parish of the Good Shepherd under the name " Vom Guten Hirten " . The school has been part of the Lankwitz-Marienfelde pastoral area since 2017 .
Specifics
The students should develop and develop holistically on the basis of the Christian image of man. Particular emphasis is placed on aspects such as fitness, health and exercise, art, music and theater.
The special learning offers include a differentiated counseling and support system by counseling teachers , school pastoral care with pastoral care, special education , days of religious orientation within the framework of school trips , religious offers by the school pastoral team, promotion and support of church aid organizations and social projects, as well as the training of Conflict guides and student guides .
