The Catholic Hospital Dortmund-West is a hospital with 263 beds in a non-profit organization in the Dortmund district of Kirchlinde . The sponsor is the Catholic St. Lukas Society , founded in 2004 , which also operates the St. Josefs Hospital Dortmund in Hörde , the St. Rochus Hospital Castrop-Rauxel and the St. Lambertus care facilities in Castrop-Rauxel .
history
In 1871 the Westphalian Mining Association in Kirchlinde provided a house for the health care of the population and the miners. Franciscan sisters took care of the patients . The number of beds was soon increased from 5 to 18 and in 1876 a move was made to a larger house under the name of St. Josefs Hospital . In 1885 the foundation stone was laid for a new building with 60 beds, which was moved into in 1886. After Kirchlinde was incorporated into Dortmund in 1928, another new building was built. From 1967 the Franciscan order withdrew from patient care. In 1980 it merged with St. Barbara Hospital in Lütgendortmund and was renamed the Catholic Hospital Dortmund-West .

The Clinic for Surgery and the Gastroenterology Department of the Clinic for Internal Medicine jointly operate an interdisciplinary visceral ward that is integrated into the Darmzentrum Ruhr .
Radiology is run by a medical care center . The central laboratory for the hospitals of the Catholic St. Lukas Society is located in the Catholic Hospital Dortmund-West. There is an emergency doctor station at the hospital .
