Max Grantz (born May 15, 1854 in Berlin ; † December 19, 1945 in Althagen near Wustrow in Mecklenburg ) was Professor of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management and Rector of the Royal Technical University of Berlin (today TU Berlin ).

Life

Grantz was full professor at the newly established Chair of Hydraulic Engineering from April 1, 1901 until his retirement on October 1, 1922 and represented the field of hydraulic engineering and water management in Department II for Civil Engineering (from 1922 Fac. II for Civil Engineering, Department for Civil engineering) of the Royal Technical University of Berlin (from 1919 Technical University of Berlin). Grantz worked as head / dean of his Department II in the academic year 1914/1915. From 1906 to 1907 he was rector of the Royal Technical University in Berlin. In 1923 he was made an honorary citizen of the Technical University of Berlin. Even after his retirement, Professor Grantz represented his field of teaching until the winter semester of 1925/1926. He was succeeded in his chair in 1923 by Adolf Ludin , who worked until 1968.

During his studies he became a member of the Academic Association Motiv .
