Georg Hettner

Georg Hermann Hettner (born August 21, 1854 in Jena , † May 24, 1914 in Berlin ) was a German mathematician .

Life

The son of the literary and art historian Hermann Hettner and his first wife Marie von Stockmar received his doctorate in 1877 at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin with the work on the reduction of the integrals of a special class of algebraic differentials to the hyperelliptic integrals.

Hettner was an associate professor of mathematics at the Technical University in Berlin , which he also headed as rector. In 1895 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina . In 1904 he was appointed a secret councilor.

His son was Gerhard Hettner .
