Bernhard Kühn

Bernhard Heinrich Kühn (born September 26, 1838 in Falkenhain , district of Schönau, † February 12, 1917 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was an architect and professor at the Royal Technical University of Berlin in Berlin-Charlottenburg (now the Technical University of Berlin ) and temporarily its rector .

From 1872 to 1879 Kühn was a private lecturer at the Bauakademie zu Berlin . He represented the subjects of facilities and construction of simple buildings and design of public buildings . After that, he worked as a "regular professor" in Department I for architecture at the chair for designing buildings until 1908 . In the academic year 1891/92 Kühn was dean , from 1882 to 1883 rector of the Royal Technical University. The prorector for this term of office was his predecessor in office, the structural engineer Emil Winkler .

The buildings of the Ministry of Culture ( Unter den Linden 4) built in 1877/83 and the Immanuel Church in Berlin were among the buildings that were created according to his designs .
