Hans Wever

Hans Wever (born March 19, 1922 in Holzminden ; † June 8, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German materials scientist and metal physicist. From 1968 to 1969 he was rector of the Technical University of Berlin according to the old rectorate constitution and up to the assumption of office of the first elected president, Alexander Wittkowsky , with the performance of the tasks of the president.

Life

During his studies Wever was in 1954 a member of the KDStV Sauerlandia Munster in CV . He worked from July 25, 1958, first as a private lecturer, and from August 25, 1962 to mid-1964, as a scientific advisor at the Chair of Metallurgy in the Metallurgy Department of Faculty VII for Mining and Metallurgy at the TU Berlin.

From the winter semester 1964/65 to the winter semester 1971/72 Wever was full professor and institute director at the chair for metal physics. After the application of the new university law and the conversion of the faculties to departments, Wever worked until September 30, 1988 as a full professor for the field of metal physics at the Institute for Metal Research in the department (17) materials science . From 1968 to 1969 he was rector of the TU Berlin.

When the new University Act (UniG) came into force on August 1, 1969 , Wever was entrusted with performing the duties of the president until the first elected president, Alexander Wittkowsky , took office.
