Max Kloss
Max Kloss (born May 16, 1873 in Dresden , † August 11, 1961 in Berlin ) was a mechanical engineer and professor for electrical machines as well as rector at the Royal Technical University of Berlin (today TU Berlin).
Life
During his studies in 1893 he became a member of the Erato Dresden singers .
In 1919 Kloss was a member of the Prussian Constitutional Assembly for the German National People's Party (DNVP) .
His grave is in the Evangelical Churchyard Nikolassee .
Scientific career
After studying at the Technical University of Dresden , he became a Dr.-Ing. PhD.
From October 1, 1911 to 1938, Kloss was full professor for electrical machines in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dept. III (from 1922 renamed Faculty III for Mechanical Engineering, from 1928 renamed Faculty III for Mechanical Engineering, Department of Power Engineering) of the Royal Technical University zu Berlin (renamed Technical University of Berlin from 1919 ).
In the academic year 1914/1915 Kloss worked as dean of Department III for mechanical engineering, in the war year 1916/1917 also as rector of the Royal Technical University of Berlin (Vice-Rector: George Henry de Thierry ).
After retiring in 1938, he was made an honorary senator of the Technical University of Berlin; in 1950 he was awarded the academic title of "Honorary Senator of the Technical University Berlin-Charlottenburg" by the Technical University.
He is buried in the Evangelical Churchyard Nikolassee in Berlin.
