Bobby Raymond began his career in 2001, playing for the Burlington Cougars in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League . After two years, he moved to the Owen Sound Grays in the Midwest Junior Hockey League for the 2003/04 season . There Raymond was eliminated with his team in the quarterfinals of the playoffs . In the next season, the team came into the final series, which was lost. Raymond was subsequently voted the league's best defender. In 2005 he began studying industrial engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology and played for the local ice hockey team. The 2006/07 season ended his team as the best points in the Atlantic Hockey Conference and Raymond was elected to the AHA All-Academic Team. He also received this award in the 2007/08 season. In 2009, Raymond and his team were eliminated in the semi-finals of the AHA playoffs, as in the previous year.

After successfully completing his studies, he signed a contract with the French club Étoile Noire de Strasbourg from the Ligue Magnus in May 2009 . For the 2010/11 season he returned to North America and joined the Florida Everblades from the ECHL . A tryout contract in October 2010 with the Norfolk Admirals from the American Hockey League was not extended, so Raymond stayed with the Everblades during the season. In April 2011, he won the Calder Cup when he also completed nine playoff games for the Binghamton Senators in the AHL. They also signed him for the 2011/12 season . In September 2011 he took part in the training camp of the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League . Raymond spent the season in both the AHL and the ECHL at the Florida Everblades. There he was part of the team that won the Kelly Cup . He extended his contract with the Everblades for a year in August 2012 and also played in Florida first. After a tryout with the Charlotte Checkers , he finally moved to the AHL on loan in December 2012 and signed in January 2013 for the rest of the season.

For the 2013/14 season , Raymond moved to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League . He signed an annual contract. There Raymond came with his team to the quarter-finals of the play-offs . In April 2014, the Adler Mannheim signed Raymond for one year. With the eagles he reached the first place in the table after the regular season and won the German championship in the subsequent play-offs . After this success he returned to the Roosters to get more Ice Age within his team.

Between June 2016 and 2019, Raymond played at EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian ice hockey league and was always one of the top defenders there. In 2018 he won the Austrian championship title with the Red Bulls as the second-placed EBEL team behind HC Bozen .

In July 2019 he returned to the Iserlohn Roosters for the second time and signed a two-year contract.
