Career
Jens Baxmann started his career at ESV Schierke , where he played until he was a schoolboy. Then he moved to the West Harz for Braunlage SC / Harz , for which he completed nine games in the 2000/01 season in the - sixth class - Lower Saxony league. During a junior game between Braunlager SC / Harz and the Eisbären Juniors Berlin at the Halberstadt Christmas market, Baxmann was discovered by those in charge of the polar bears and switched to the Juniors in 2001. For the Juniors he played in the DNL and in the Regionalliga before he came to his first assignments in 2003 in the DEL team of the polar bears. In the 2003/04 playoffs , he played all of the Eisbären games and scored his first point in the DEL in April 2004 against the DEG Metro Stars .
In the 2006/07 season , Baxmann got only a few operating times and was mostly used instead of his traditional defender position in the fourth row. In April 2007 he had to undergo shoulder surgery and then performed very well at the beginning of the following season.
After 18 years with 860 DEL games and 7 won championship titles, he did not receive a new contract from the Berliners after the 2018/19 season and switched to league competitor Iserlohn Roosters for the 2019/20 season .
For the German national team he has played 39 games so far.
