The 2002/03 season is the third season since the foundation of the German Junior League , the highest junior league in German ice hockey . In contrast to the previous season , the league was reduced to 10 teams.

The preliminary round was played as a double round. Then the teams in 1st to 4th place played the playoffs, while the team in 10th place was relegated from the league.

As champions of the youth league in 2002/03, TSV Erding waived promotion to the DNL.
