The 2015/16 season was the 16th season since the foundation of the German Junior League , the highest junior league in German ice hockey . After a new mode with two regionally divided preliminary round groups was tested last year, the league returned to a single-track main round.

The field of participants is unchanged from the previous season, as all teams achieved relegation.

mode

Three points are awarded to a team for a win after the normal playing time, if the game is a draw after 60 minutes, both teams receive one point, the winner of the five-minute extra time (only with four against four field players) or after a necessary penalty shoot-out receives another point credited. If a team loses in regular time, it does not receive any points. First, in the main round, a double round is played everyone against everyone (44 games per team). The teams in positions 1 and 2 after the main round are automatically qualified for the final tournament for the German Championship. Those placed 3 to 10 determine four further participants for this final tournament in a play-off round (best of three). For the teams that finish 11th and 12th after the main round, the season is over.
