The 2001/02 season was the second season since the foundation of the German Junior League , the highest junior league in German ice hockey . The championship of the DNL won the young eagles Mannheim , while the teams of the Frankfurt ESC and Augsburger EV relegated to the youth league. The champions of the youth Bundesliga 2001/02, the EC Bad Tölz , decided to be promoted to the DEL.
