Kathrin Mädler (General Manager)

Kathrin Mädler (born 1976 in Osnabrück ) is a German dramaturge, theater director and artistic director.

Life

Mädler studied dramaturgy, theater and literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding . Further studies in Cincinnati, Ohio and at the University of California at Irvine followed before she graduated and received her doctorate in Munich.

After teaching positions at the LMU Munich and the WWU Münster, she was guest assistant director at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Burgtheater Vienna.

In 2005 she was hired as a dramaturge and director at the State Theater in Nuremberg . From there, she moved to the Münster Theater in 2012 as the lead dramaturge. In 2016 she left Münster and went to the State Theater Schwaben in Memmingen as artistic director. In July 2020 it became known that the regional theater association of the Schwaben state theater had extended the contract with director Mädler by five years. The State Theater of Swabia was one of the eleven winners of the 2019 Federal Theater Prize.
