Kathrin and Peter
Kathrin and Peter are a German singing and moderation duo from the field of German-language pop hits. Kathrin (born November 30, 1962 in Löbau ) and Peter Kunze (born March 9, 1962 in Löbau) live in the Zittau Mountains Nature Park .
biography
The duo have known each other since they were young. Kathrin is a trained construction engineer and has been singing and playing guitar since she was a child. Peter sang since early childhood and in the school choir. After completing his apprenticeship as a baker, he trained as a moderator and interpreter at the cultural academy in Dresden and Berlin. In the beginning both worked as disc jockeys, since the late 1990s they have formed the duo Kathrin & Peter.
They released their first single in 1999. Since then, successful songs such as If not today when then then , Samba de la Luna or Die Melodie have been made , which also brought commercial success. You work with music producers and copywriters such as Bernd Sichter , Reiner Burmann, Willy Klüter and Uwe Haselsteiner.
They appear in various TV programs such as Always on Sundays , Music for You , Funny Musicians , ZDF TV Garden , Schlager of the Year or the popular music parade. In 2006 their concert tour to San Francisco (USA) was accompanied by camera teams and this report achieved good ratings on television. They also work as TV presenters and see themselves as “ambassadors for Upper Lusatia”. In 1999 they opened the "Quirle-Häusl" in the holiday region "Nature Park Zittauer Gebirge", a hotel and restaurant.
Trivia
In the film The Eternal Gardener , a television appearance by Kathrin and Peter is used to drown out the fighting noises when the main character, played by Ralph Fiennes , is beaten up in their hotel room during a stay in Germany .
