Katie Kitamura

Katie M. Kitamura (born 1979 in California ) is an American writer.

Life

Katie Kitamura is the child of Japanese immigrants, she initially wanted to become a ballerina . She graduated from Princeton University in 1999 and received her PhD from the London Consortium in 2005 with her dissertation The Aesthetics of Vulgarity and the Modern American Novel .

She writes feature articles for the English-language quality press. Kitamura published five novels by 2017. Her novel Separation is to be filmed with Katherine Waterston .

Kitamura is married to the writer Hari Kunzru .
