Katja Lauken (* 1970 in Wuppertal ) is a German theater director .

life and work

Katja Lauken passed her Abitur at the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg in 1990 and then studied pedagogy and theater studies in Cologne . After graduating, she began her directing career as an assistant at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , where she also staged her first own work with Werner Schwab's “The Presidents” . Lauken now lives in Cologne and has previously worked at the city theaters in Aachen , Bochum , Essen , Cologne, Oberhausen and Paderborn .

Prices

In 2006, her production of Edna Mazya's "The Swing" was awarded the main and audience prize of the NRW Children's and Youth Theater Festival. In 2007 she received the award for women artists of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
