Katrin Aladjova-Kusznirczuk (born as Katrin Penewa Aladjowa , Bulgarian Катрин Пенева Аладжова , at the World Chess Federation FIDE Katrin Aladjova ; born June 21, 1971 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian - Australian chess player and official.
Life
She learned to play chess from her father when she was six years old. In 1989 she married, moved to Australia and took the name Katrin Wills. After remarrying, she was called Katrin Aladjova-Kusznirczuk from 2011.
As a chess official she is a delegate of the Australian Chess Federation at FIDE and was President of the Chess Federation of the Australian state of Victoria from 2007 to November 2009 . She is now active in cosmetic consulting.
successes
In 1986 she won the U16 world championship for women in Río Gallegos, Argentina , which gave her the title of FIDE Women's Champion (WFM). In 1989 she won the U18 World Cup for Women in Aguadilla, Puerto Rican . In the same year Wesselin Topalow won the U14 World Cup and Antoaneta Stefanowa the U10 World Cup . A triple success of Bulgarian players in 1989 increased the interest in chess in Bulgaria. After her U18 title, she married and moved to Australia. She took part in the Australian Women's Individual Championship in Melbourne in 1992 , held at the turn of 1991/92, which she won; after that she played with the Begonia Open in Ballarat in March 2007 only one Elo -rated tournament.
