Katun ( Cyrillic : Катун) is a village in eastern Serbia .

Geography and population

The village is located in the Opština Aleksinac in Nišavski okrug in the east of the country at 273 meters above sea level. Katun had a population of 442 at the 2011 census, down from 571 in 1991. According to the last three population statistics, the number of inhabitants continues to fall.

100% of the population of Katun are Serbian Orthodox Serbs . The village consists of 213 households. Katun is located southeast of the municipality capital Aleksinac . Katun lies on the banks of the Južna Morava .
