The Kauffman Glacier is a wide, smooth and 11 km long glacier on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows in an easterly direction to the head of the Palmer Inlet .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1976 after the biologist Thomas A. Kauffman, who was the scientific director of the Palmer Station in 1973 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program .
