Kaunersteig

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kaunersteig is a steep climb in the Berchtesgaden Alps . It leads from the Saletalm ( 610  m ) , located between the Königssee and Obersee , to the Gotzenalm ( 1685  m ) and, along with the Sagerecksteig, is the most frequently used route to climb out of the Obersee basin.

The actual path (marker 492) begins right next to the Salet boat landing stage and runs 700 meters north along the Königssees, before going east in around 35 serpentines uphill. The route continues between Gotzenberg and Kleines Regenbergl on the hill with the Regenalm . From there you can hike directly to the Gotzenalm on the bridle path .

Since summer 2019, the climb has been closed due to a debris flow in winter 2018/2019.
