The Gotzenalm is an alpine pasture in the Gotzen Mountains on the western edge of the Hagen Mountains high above the Königssee in the Berchtesgaden Alps in the Berchtesgadener Land district . On the free plateau several are Alm-Kaser scattered, including farmed in the summer private refuge Springlkaser ( 1685  m ), which also offers overnight accommodation. The hut is a popular alpine base for mountaineers and hikers for tours in the Hagen Mountains or when crossing into the Steinerne Meer . In addition, the Gotzenalm, as an independent destination, is often visited by day visitors, who mostly choose the easiest access from the Jennerbahn middle station via the Priesbergalm . The Alm is also a worthwhile excursion destination among mountain bikers. A little above the Gotzenalm, easily reached in around a quarter of an hour's walk, the fire palf viewpoint offers a rewarding deep view of the Königssee and the Watzmann towering opposite with its imposing east face . The Gotzenalm is located in the maintenance zone of the Berchtesgaden National Park .

The Alm was first mentioned as "Ganzo" 790 in the Notitia Arnonis .

Deer run

Three partially insured trails on the slopes of the Gotzentauern above the Königssees are known as the Hirschenlauf , two of which allow the transition from the Priesbergalm to the Gotzenalm. The lower Hirschenlauf runs mainly at an altitude of around 1400 meters. It has no special requirements and is marked as AV-Weg 495. The middle Hirschenlauf , which places significantly higher demands on the ability to orientate and surefootedness of the hiker, is around 200 meters higher than the climb through the wooded slopes. The lower and middle Hirschenlauf separate, coming from Priesberg, shortly after the cut of the water-bearing downward ditch and reunite north below the Gotzenalm. In addition to these two, there is the upper Hischenlauf , which leads a good bit higher out of the Stiergraben to the saddle between Gotzentauern and Hohem Laafeld. This old climbing system has largely fallen into disrepair. Some previous backups are in a bad state.
