Kavin John Gilder-Tilbury (born May 19, 1994 ) is an American basketball player .

career

Gilder-Tilbury attended Cypress Falls High School in the US state of Texas , from 2013 he studied at Texas State University and was part of the college's basketball team. When he left university in 2017, he was in first place in the university team's all-time list of the best in the "games played" category with 128. He was the first player to book more than 1000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 ball wins and 50 blocks for Texas State. The statistically best season of his time at university was the final game year 2016/17, when he recorded an average of 15.9 points, 5.6 rebounds per encounter and 1.8 basket hits from teammates per game.

The two-meter-tall winger decided in the summer of 2017 to accept a contract offer from the German second division club RheinStars Cologne and thus switch to the professional camp. He was used in 31 games of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA over the course of the year and led the Rhinelander as the team's best scorer with an average of 12.9 points per match. His 4.6 rebounds per game were the second best value within the team. With 47 three-point throws, the Texan proved his quality as a long-range shooter in his first year as a professional.

During the summer break of 2018, Gilder-Tilbury moved to BV Chemnitz 99 within the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In the 2018/19 game year he just missed promotion to the basketball Bundesliga with the Saxons when they lost the decisive semi-final game to Hamburg in their own hall. The point round was finished first in the table. Gilder-Tilbury was the second-best Chemnitz basket shooter during the season (12.8 points per match).

In the draft process of the NBA G-League in October 2019, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers secured the services of the winger in 28th place, but handed him over to the Westchester Knicks shortly afterwards . In four games for the team he got 0.8 points per encounter and was removed from the list in mid-December 2019. At the beginning of January 2020, he moved to the Swedish first division club BC Luleå , at the end of the same month there was a separation, the American had played a league game for the team and scored 14 points. A few days later, the German second division Science City Jena announced its commitment.
