Kazimierz Imieliński

Kazimierz Mikołaj Imieliński (born December 6, 1929 in Dąbrowa Górnicza , † July 16, 2010 ) was a Polish sexologist . He is considered a pioneer of sexology in Poland and was the author of numerous books.

In 1949 he received his A-levels and went to the Medical Academy in Krakow (now part of the Jagiellonian University ), where he successfully completed his medical studies in 1954. In 1963 he was made a specialist in sex sciences , the first time this title was awarded in Poland. In 1971 Imieliński completed his habilitation in sexology. In 1990 he founded the Polish Medical Academy and became its director.

In 2004 he was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta . He has been awarded an honorary doctorate 56 times in 24 countries, and 18 times he has been made an honorary professor abroad.
