The Kbs wz. 1996 Beryl or Beryl wz96 is the standard rifle of the Polish Armed Forces . Among the descendants of the AK-47 , it is characterized by its high processing quality, which comes close to that of the Finnish Sako M95 . It was produced by Fabryka Broni "Łucznik" on behalf of the state . A further development is available as Kbk wz. 2002 AM known.

The rifle uses the 5.56 × 45 mm NATO caliber and can accommodate STANAG magazines. A shortened "command" version also exists. A Picatinny rail for various sights is attached to the top of the weapon .

As standard, it has an open visor with integrated, tritium-illuminated target optics, which allow targets both in daylight and at dusk. The newly designed ergonomic pistol grip and the modified optional front grip are intended to increase usability and safety.

In addition to the option of using a base grenade launcher , rifle grenades can also be fired.
