Cornelis (Kees) Vlak (born September 30, 1938 in Amsterdam , † December 5, 2014 in Schoorl ) was a Dutch composer and musician . He used the pseudonyms "Robert Allmend", "Llano", "Luigi di Ghisallo", "Alfred Bösendorfer" and "Dick Ravenal" for works in certain genres .

As a child he played ( trumpet ) together with his father ( clarinet ) in a fanfare orchestra (special form of the wind orchestra ). He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and completed his studies in piano (1959), as well as trumpet and orchestral playing (1961) with a diploma . He studied wind orchestra directing at the Musiklyzeum in Amsterdam with Kors Monster and music theory at Berkley High School in San Francisco .

During his studies he played in various groups and orchestras ( revue , musical , operetta and symphony orchestra ). Due to a chronic condition, he had to stop playing his own trumpet at the age of 25. He used the free time to compose, which gave him national and international recognition and distinction.
