Keita Masuda

Keita Masuda ( Japanese 舛 田 圭 太 , Masuda Keita ; born February 27, 1979 in Kashima , Ishikawa Prefecture ) is a badminton player from Japan .

Career

Masuda started at the Summer Olympics in 2000 , 2004 and 2008 . In 2000 he retired in the men's singles after a bye in the 2nd round against Xia Xuanze . Four years later he suffered the same fate in doubles with Tadashi Ohtsuka , where he was also eliminated after a bye in round 2. In 2008 both made it to the quarterfinals and finished 5th. At the Badminton World Cup 2006 Ōtsuka and Masuda reached the second round .

Nationally both were successful in the Japanese badminton championship in doubles in 1998 and 1999 as well as 2003 and 2004. Keita Masuda also won the men's singles title from 1998 to 2002. He won the mixed competition with Miyuki Maeda from 2005 to 2008. In 2000 he won the Giraldilla International together with Tadashi Ohtsuka .
