Keizō Hamada ( Japanese 浜 田 恵 造 , Hamada Keizō ; born January 10, 1952 in Kan'onji , Kagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician and has been the governor of Kagawa since 2010.

Hamada is a graduate of the University of Tokyo and after graduating in 1975 he became an officer in the Treasury . From 1990 to 1996 he headed the department for general affairs ( sōmu-kyoku ) in the prefecture administration of Yamagata , from 2002 the regional branch Tōkai of the Ministry of Finance ( Tōkai zaimu-kyoku ) and from 2007 to 2008 the Tokyo customs authority ( Tōkyō zeikan ) with responsibility for seven eastern Japanese prefectures. In 2009 he ended his civil service career.

In 2010, Hamada ran as an independent candidate in the gubernatorial election in Kagawa to succeed Takeki Manabe , who did not run after three terms in office. His candidacy was formally supported by no party, but received support from the four most important factions in the prefectural parliament ( LDP , DP , Kōmeitō , SDP ) and the trade union confederation Rengō Kagawa. The main topic of the election campaign was the economic and employment situation in Kagawa. Hamada won the election on August 29, 2010 with a low turnout of just under 37% against the independent Satoko Watanabe, a former member of the prefecture parliament, and a CPY-supported candidate with around 46% of the vote.

In 2014 , Hamada was confirmed in office against just one communist challenger.
