Kellie Shanygne Williams (born March 22, 1976 in Washington, DC ) is an American actress .

Career

Kellie Shanygne Williams began her career as a child clothing model. She took acting lessons at the age of four and had her first stage role at six in cousins ​​of a regional production. After taking classes at the Howard University Children's Theater , she has appeared in TV commercials and plays, including Joe Turner's Come and Gone , The Colored Museum , Butterfingers Angel , Goin 'Home, and The Bacchae . She had roles and appearances in Mimes and Yarns at the International Drama Festival in Dundalk , Ireland and in Pure Energy in Nassau. Since 1989 she has played her best-known role with Laura Winslow in All Under One Roof . She got this role in a nationwide search at age 12 after her father sent in a videotape. After nine years, the series was discontinued in 1998 for various reasons.

Williams also appeared on television on Celebration in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. , Luther's Choice and the sitcom Moesha (1996/99). Kellie Shanygne Williams lives in Los Angeles and has been married to her husband since 2009, they both have a daughter (Hannah Belle Jackson, * 2010) and a son (John Ervin Jackson, * 2012).
