The Kelsall River is a river in the far northwest of Canada .
It crosses the US state of Alaska as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory . It rises from a glacier southeast of Mount Kelsall , flows through Kelsall Lake and flows about 16 km upstream from the Klehini River into the Chilkat River .
The river was named in 1916 after R. Kelsall, a member of the British Columbia-Yukon Boundary Surveying Party . The Tlingit called him Jelchhini .
