Kemono Michi ( Japanese け も の み ち ) is a manga series by Natsume Akatsuki and the draftsmen Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta . It has been released in Japan since 2016 and was implemented as an anime television series in 2019 . In the Isekai and Comedy series, a wrestler who loves animals is summoned into a fantasy world where he tries to set up an animal shop.

action

The pro-wrestler Genzō Shibata ( 柴 田 源 蔵 ) is facing the climax of his career. With the profit from his next fight, he wants to fulfill his real dream: his own pet shop. But during the fight against long-term rival Mao, Genzō is suddenly summoned to another world. Princess Altena, with the help of her priests, called him to defeat the beasts in her realm. But Genzō, who loves all animals, doesn't believe in killing animals at all, overpowers the princess and disappears. He resolves to open a pet shop in this world and show people that you can live peacefully with animals and beasts.

The wolf girl Shigure ( シ グ レ ) wants to help Genzō - initially because she senses double the profit in the sale of captured animals, but then she is also convinced of his mission. On behalf of the Heroes' Guild, they take on a number of assignments in which Genzō always does not kill the monsters, but rather tames them through his love for animals and skill. His great strength as a wrestler is always an advantage to him, so as not to be at a disadvantage compared to the wild beasts. He even manages to defeat the leader of an ogre gang in battle so that they no longer attack the people. For the planned store, however, both need a lot more money, especially since the care of all the accumulating monsters also costs a lot of money. In addition, the dragon Hanako ( 花子 , actually Lindabellea) soon runs up to them , her life as the daughter of a high dragon family has become too boring and who is constantly looking for delicious food. Together with her vampire maid Carmilla Vanstein ( ヴ ァ ン シ ュ タ イ ン ・ カ ー ミ ラ ), who is devoted to her mistress but arrogant, inconsiderate and lazy towards everyone else, Hanako nests with Genzō. Shigure can only alleviate the growing financial worries with difficulty, often by exploiting the misfortunes of others.

While Genzō is in the other world, his rival Mao is frustrated because their fight has broken off. But then he is summoned by the vampire princess Joanna. She considers him a true demon king from another world, with whom she wants to defeat the hero summoned by Princess Altena. Mao recognizes his rival and immediately agrees. With this victory she could finally outdo Lindabellea, who has always been superior to her so far. While Joanna embarks on the journey to the hero with her devoted vampire servant Rose and Mao, Genzō finds a first combat student in the lizard girl Celes. They both soon have a chance to show off their skills when the town's banker throws Shigure and Genzō at a wrestling tournament. Shigure hopes to finally be able to make money again and Genzō to finally get enough money for the shop. They find a range of human and animal participants together - many former opponents and now friends of Genzō. The tournament is a great success, people and animals seem to get along better now, but due to Genzō's destruction and the voracity of Hanako and Carmilla, Shigure has no more money than before.

As Mao and the vampires and some demons get closer to the city, rumors spread. Princess Altena asks Genzō to defeat the demon king because he is the hero, but he refuses. Altena's attempts to eliminate Genzō in order to summon a new hero also fail. After Mao's attack on the orcs, Genzō learns who his opponent really is. When Mao challenges him to end their abandoned fight, Genzō accepts. Another tournament will be held, the final of which will be the fight between the two wrestlers. Now the demons from Mao's entourage and on Genzō's side the Princess Altena herself, who surprisingly finds a lot of fun with it. After a long fight that degenerates into a brawl between humans and demons, Genzō can defeat Mao again. They promise another fight in the future and Mao goes on a training trip satisfied, while Joanna withdraws disappointed. The profits were again wiped out by destruction and Hanako and Carmilla, so that the group must continue to take missions and new tournaments are pending.
