Ken Gudman

Ken Gudman (born October 5, 1947 in Copenhagen , † September 17, 2003 ) was a Danish drummer and musician .

Ken Gudman played as a drummer in many up-and-coming beat and rock bands in Denmark in the early 1960s, including: The Defenders , Young Flowers , 1972 in Culpeper's Orchard , Mo-I-Rana from 1972 to 1974, Fly United from 1975 to 1976, Savage Rose from 1973 to 1974, also with the Starfuckers and in 1987 in Peter Thorup's Den Benhårde Trio . In 1964 he also appeared in the Danish film Villa Vennely as the drummer in the fictional band The Danish Sharks .

He also played on some tours with Alexis Korner , who collaborated a lot with Peter Thorup , especially in Germany. He also worked as a sought-after studio musician. In addition, he later played drums with various musicians and bands , including Sebastian , Povl Dissing and Lasse og Mathilde .

Gudman was married to the Danish actress Lisa Fastrup . After his death, he was buried in the Assistenzfriedhof ( Assistens Kirkegård ) in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen .

With the proceeds from the memorial concert on October 12, 2003 for the death of Ken Gudman in Amager Bio ( Amager ), the Ken Gudman Prisen (Ken Gudman Prize) was donated, a music prize for particularly deserving Danish drummers. This has been awarded since 2003 and includes an annual prize money of 12,500 crowns . The income made from the memorial concert at that time ranges from 2003 to 2013, with an annual, constant prize money.
