Ken Kalfus
Ken Kalfus (born April 9, 1954 in New York City ) is an American writer.
Life
Ken Kalfus studied at the New School for Social Research in Manhattan and at Trinity College (Dublin) . He worked as a journalist until he was able to publish his first volume of short stories Thirst in 1998 , for which he won an author award on Salon.com . Kalfus has written four novels since then until 2014. Kalfus writes for The New York Times Book Review . The film Pu-239 is based on his short story of the same name.
Kalfus received a Guggenheim grant in 2009 . He was on the nomination list for the PEN / Faulkner Award in 2000 and for the National Book Award in 2006 .
Kalfus lives in Philadelphia with his wife and daughter . He said in an interview that he was writing books in order to have an excuse to travel.
